GHRH analogue · growth-hormone secretagogue

tesamorelin, in research terms

Tesamorelin is a stabilised analogue of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It sits on the secretagogue side of the growth-hormone axis — studied for prompting the body's own pituitary to release GH, rather than supplying GH directly.

what it is

Tesamorelin is a synthetic GHRH analogue — a stabilised version of the hormone that signals the pituitary to release growth hormone. The stabilisation is the point: native GHRH is short-lived, and the analogue is studied because it persists long enough to be a usable research tool. It belongs to the growth & recovery range.

secretagogue vs exogenous GH

This is the axis that defines the compound. A secretagogue like tesamorelin stimulates endogenous, pulsatile GH release through the body's own axis. That is a different research approach from supplying recombinant GH directly — the route somatropin represents. Tesamorelin is studied where preserving the natural release rhythm is the variable of interest.

how it relates to the other secretagogues

Tesamorelin is a GHRH analogue on its own. In the CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin pen, a GHRH analogue is paired with a selective GH-releasing peptide — a two-mechanism secretagogue combination. Tesamorelin isolates the GHRH arm.

verifying identity and purity

Each tesamorelin research pen ships with an independent, batch-specific certificate of analysis reporting LC-MS identity and HPLC purity. See how to read a COA.
